This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn Huntsville is a glorious spot to spend a night or two, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Mud Lake. Ellis Reservoir is a good spot of common precipitation;       of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is August. If you love the outdoors, you'll love Ellis Reservoir. Ellis Reservoir Dam is a delightful place next to Ellis Reservoir, and you can stay the night at Harmon Creek RV Park and Marina. While you're here at Ellis Reservoir you can play some golf at Lake Estates Golf Club. There's so much to do here at Ellis Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Bethy Creek                  Resort is a pleasant location for that. A great close by hotel is Econo Lodge Huntsville, and the Lone Star Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Huntsville State Park Trail. High temperatures at Ellis Reservoir through the days of summer are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 70's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's with temperatures at Ellis Reservoir dipping down into the 30's during winter nights.
