There's always Duncan Lake Dam to go to near Elder Lake, and needless to say, this is a delightful neighborhood for people who like lakes, Duncan Lake is a lake close by. The warmest time of the year at Elder Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are       in the 70's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's while Elder Lake night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 30's. Elder Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; April is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is August. Man, is there heaps of exciting things to do in close proximity to Elder Lake. There are plenty of people from Longview here at Elder Lake, and going for a hike on the                  Martin Creek Lake State Park Trail is always a good adventure. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Kilgore Lake, and near Elder Lake you come across a golf course called Shallow Creek Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. Elder Lake is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, PineRidge RV Park is a glorious place to camp nearby, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn Kilgore is a great choice.
