Durst Lakes sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is May; August on the other hand is the driest. Be careful coming to Durst Lakes, you might not ever want to return home again. There's wonderful hiking along the 4 - C National Recreation Hiking Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Neches Bluff Campground is always a perfect experience; dry       warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Nacogdoches. Good hiking is available along the Neches Bluff Trail, and Durst Lakes is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Mouth of Hickory Creek Campground is a nice local campground. Don't leave Durst Lakes without first going for a hike along the Old Tram Hiking Trail, and lakes are such calm locations, why not go to Eagle Lake. At Durst Lakes through the summertime highs are in the 90's, and all through the                  night it cools down to the 70's. For the period of the winter highs are generally in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Durst Lakes temperatures dip to the 30's.
