A delightful site to camp here at Contrabando Waterhole is Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort and Spa; going for a hike on the Agua Fria Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Summertime highs at Contrabando Waterhole frequently tend to be in the 100's. When the night       sets in temperatures sink down into the 70's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 60's; night lows at Contrabando Waterhole during the wintertime mostly sink into the 30's. There are great sites to look at along the Closed Canyon Trail; Big Bend National Park is a magnificent place close by. Having a magnificent time at Contrabando Waterhole is simple. At Contrabando Waterhole you can see Contrabando Mountain; there is a great hiking                  trail close by called the Big Bend Ranch State Park Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
