     Getting to Bluff Creek from Collard Lake is simple; Duren Lake Dam is a striking place. Bog Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. Collard Lake is a wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Collard Lake has to offer, you can camp at Neches Bluff Campground; close by you hit  
   upon the Mission Tejas State Park Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail.
But wait, there's more to do right next door to Collard Lake. Dry warm beds await you at La Quinta Inn and Suites Jacksonville, and this is a popular location for people from Jacksonville. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Collard Lake, you could also check out pretty Collard Lake, and the Neches Bluff Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by. There's so much
 
               to do here at Collard Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mouth of Hickory Creek Campground is a magnificent spot for that; there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the Old Tram Hiking Trail.
For the duration of the days of summer at Collard Lake temperatures are generally in the 90's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and night lows in the 30's for Collard Lake.

Just hiked the 20 mile trail north to south yesterday. Nice terrain, but the trail is in horrible shape. It looks like there has been no maintenence this year. In some parts, brush covering the trail was higher than my head....The Four C's is a beautiful trail, representative of the pinewoods area. Be familiar with landmarks as they can be very tricky....
