Cole Lake is a lake close by, and do take a hike on the 4 - C National Recreation Hiking Trail. At Cole Lake through the summertime months highs are in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 70's. For the period of the wintertime highs are generally in the 50's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Cole Lake temperatures sink to the 30's. The high level of rain makes Cole Lake a relatively wet spot;       May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is August. Cole Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Holly Bluff Campground is a glorious local campground, and there's some flowing water nearby, Big Bend Slough is a stream you can stop by while you're here.
