Swamps like Big Slough are fun to stop by; there are plenty of folks from Mount Pleasant here at Clayton Lake. Clayton Lake gets lots of water; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is August. This lake is so wonderful. On a great day at Clayton Lake you can take a hike along the Daingerfield State Park Trail, and you can stay the       night at Scenic View Motel and Marina. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. There's so much to do here at Clayton Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rocky Branch RV Park is a good spot for that, and if you need a place to stay Scenic View Motel & Marina is a tremendous choice. At Clayton Lake through the summertime months highs are in the 90's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the                  50's, and night lows in the 20's for Clayton Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Clear Lake is near Clayton Lake, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Boggy Creek.
