City Lake is pretty dry generally; during September this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. Brazos River - Clear Fork has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by, and not far from City Lake you acquire some pleasant water scenery at City Lake Dam. You're perhaps addicted       to lakes, Anson South Lake is one of those nearby; if you're visiting from Abilene, you won't be the only one. City Lake in fact is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Camping is available at Tye RV Park, and dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel Abilene TX. This lake is so wonderful. This is a good neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Anson North Lake is a lake close by; right next door to City Lake you come across a golf course                  called Anson Golf Club. Summer brings highs in the 90's to City Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
