     Pine Springs Campground is a wonderful campground nearby, and why not take a little spree to San Pedro Creek if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Neches Bluff Campground is a nice local campground, and if you've had enough of Chain of Lakes, Chain of Lakes is nearby. Man, is there lots of fun things to do right next door to Chain of Lakes. People from Jacksonville love to come to Chain of Lakes; while you're here you can take a hike along the Old Tram  
   Hiking Trail. You're most likely hooked on lakes, Pearman Lake is one of those nearby, and do take a hike on the Mission Tejas State Park Trail.
Chain of Lakes ordinarily gets a large amount of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is August. For the duration of the warm months at Chain of Lakes highs are typically in the 90's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 70's. Highs throughout the
 
               winter are generally in the 50's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Chain of Lakes plunge into the 30's. Holiday Inn Express CROCKETT is a nice place to get some rest; you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Neches Bluff Trail.

Just hiked the 20 mile trail north to south yesterday. Nice terrain, but the trail is in horrible shape. It looks like there has been no maintenence this year. In some parts, brush covering the trail was higher than my head....The Four C's is a beautiful trail, representative of the pinewoods area. Be familiar with landmarks as they can be very tricky....
