Cave Pond is always a pleasure to visit. All through the summertime at Cave Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 70's. Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Cave Pond are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Colorado Bend State Park Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lampasas, Tx is a glorious place to spend a night or two. McCrea Branch is close to Cave Pond and is always a diversion to visit, and the vista of stunning Buzzard Mountain is great.
