     Boggy Creek flows through this neighborhood, and camping is available at Big Steve's RV Park. High temperatures at Cary Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 70's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Cary Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Neches River,  
   and going for a hike on the Nature Trail is always a perfect adventure. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express JACKSONVILLE is a tremendous choice, and you can go for a hike on the Mount Hope Tract Trail.
Here at Cary Lake there are plenty of folks from Jacksonville, and you're almost certainly keen on lakes, Pine Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Cary Lake Mountain is a peak you can make out from Cary Lake; if you came for
 
               an overnight stay Castle on the Lake Inn and RV Resort is a glorious place to camp.
If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Cary Lake. Best Western Executive Inn is a fine place to get some rest, and if you've had enough of Cary Lake, Henry Lake is close by. The yearly precipitation here at Cary Lake is about average; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest.

... totally do-able float. There's not really any fast water to speak of, but you need to be prepared to make short portages and negotiate downed timber in the water. One area in particular you will need to tie some line off to your kayak and let it float under a downed tree, you crawl over the tree and then get back in. I'm sure the when and where the trees are down changes quite often.... And it looks like someone (probably the river authority) takes a saw down and cuts some of this out from time to time.

The put in location is correct. However, the take out is not. You need to float further down to the 175 bridge (less than 1/4th mile) and get out there.

I would suggest that experienced paddlers attempt this only when the water is high from heavy rains or when the dam is letting a lot of water out. There's vegetative litter stuck in the trees 10 foot above the water line.... So at some points of the year... This thing moves... And could represent dangers with the amount of timber.

You might consider taking a machete on this trip just in case. Don't forget the fis...
