While you're here at Carter Lake, you could also visit beautiful Rose Lake; not far from Carter Lake you acquire some nice water scenery at Carter Lake Dam. If you love the outdoors, you'll go for Carter Lake. Getting to Highsmith Creek from Carter Lake is uncomplicated, and don't leave Carter Lake without first going for a hike along the Palmetto State Park - Nature and Hiking Trail.                  At Carter Lake all through the warm months highs are in the 90's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 70's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 60's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Carter Lake. Playing golf is lots of fun at Luling Municipal Golf Course; a tremendous place to camp here at Carter Lake is Ben's RV Park. Do stop at Salt Lake near Carter Lake, it's a striking lake, and there are wonderful sites to look at along the Palmetto State Park - Palmetto Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
