Vernon Super 8 Motel is a good choice, and Carpenter Lake Dam is not far at all from Carpenter Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Cypress Creek Country       Club. There's so much to do here at Carpenter Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Harris RV is a perfect site for that. Carpenter Lake gets a large amount of water; the month with most of the rain is May; the driest month is August. A nice nearby hotel is Thee Hubbell House, and you'll meet a lot of people from Mount Pleasant here. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Carpenter Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures through                  the winter are normally in the 50's with temperatures at Carpenter Lake dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights.
