This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Hampton Inn Livingston is a tremendous choice, and let's not forget Menard Creek which is a stream that you may run into while you're here. Lake Run-A-Muck
I remember living about 3 or 4 dirt roads past the lake coming from the main entrance (somewhere between Elsie's Alley and Rene Ln) when I was a kid (1978-1979), and the place looked nasty back then, as I believe it was a slow development.  Mostly cheap mobile homes, dirt roads and dangerous living, I could't go outside much with all of the snakes that were running loose within easy sight on a DAILY basis.  I wouldn't mids driving through to see what has since become of it, but my memory is remembers this place vividly, and not in a good way....
