After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express LEESVILLE-FT. POLK is a perfect site to spend a night or two; of course Black Land Creek flows through this neighborhood. There are other places here than Brushy Lake, for example Catfish Lake; don't leave Brushy Lake without first       checking out Russell Bend. This lake is so wonderful. On a magnificent day you can pop by Jim River, a swamp near Brushy Lake. There's so much to do here at Brushy Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bass Haven Resort is a delightful site for that. The high level of rain makes Brushy Lake a reasonably wet place; during the month of December you get the most rain around here while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During                  the days of summer at Brushy Lake highs are commonly in the 90's while overnight lows are commonly in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Brushy Lake are in the 30's.
