What a nice lake Brushy Lake is. Camping is available at Pine Springs Campground, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Executive Inn is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. Don't leave Brushy Lake without first going for a hike along the Mission Tejas State Park Trail; it's a delightful idea to take a look at Butler Branch. Much rainfall falls at Brushy Lake; the month with most of the rain is May, and August is the month with the least moisture.

| | There's pleasant hiking along the Old Tram Hiking Trail, and if you get bored of Brushy Lake you could also stop at nearby Horseshoe Lake. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing things just keep reading.  | 16 miles away Just hiked the 20 mile trail north to south yesterday. Nice terrain, but the trail is in horrible shape. It looks like there has been no maintenence this year. In some parts, brush covering the trail was higher than my head....The Four C's is a beautiful trail, representative of the pinewoods area. Be familiar with landmarks as they can be very tricky.... |
