Goatneck Bend is something you shouldn't miss while you're here at Boat Lake; if you're dropping by from Beaumont-Port Arthur, you won't be the only one. La Quinta Inn & Suites Lumberton is a good site to get some rest, and if time allows, Big Thicket National Preserve is a national park worth stopping at. A good deal of rain falls at Boat Lake; throughout May this area sees the most rain while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

| | For the duration of the summer highs here at Boat Lake get into the 90's; the night is a bit colder of course, usually in the 70's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Boat Lake are in the 30's. a day at, Village Creek State Park is a pleasant local campground, and do explore Buck Lake, it's a charming lake.
This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Red Cloud Recreational Vehicle Park is a splendid spot to do that,
and a pretty lake like Clear Lake is a nice place to go to. Be careful coming to Boat Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. Why not visit nearby Sam Goode Branch if you're here at Boat Lake, and hiking is a popular
thing to do around Boat Lake; Big Thicket - Turkey Creek Trail is a tremendous local trail. Go for a hike on the Roy E Larsen Sandyland Sanctuary Trail, and on a delightful day you can check out Deep Slough, a swamp in the neighborhood of Boat Lake.
