Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Blue Lake are in the 30's. Big Slough is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at; Blue Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Neches Bluff Campground is a glorious local campground.       There's so much to do here at Blue Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mouth of Hickory Creek Campground is a glorious spot for that, and a delightful lake like Upper Lake is a fine site to pop by. The high level of rain makes Blue Lake a reasonably wet site; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is August. That right there is loads already, but it carries on; Blue Lake has it all. While you're                  here at Blue Lake you can take a hike along the Ratcliff Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Old Tram Hiking Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and McCall Lake is a nice lake close by.
