Many people like to go to Bentsen Lake. Dry warm beds await you at SpringHill Suites McAllen, and there are other sites here than Bentsen Lake, for example Lake Conception. Camping is available at Valley Grande Mobile Home Park, and there's always Bentsen Dam to check out next to Bentsen Lake. Around Bentsen Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; September is the wettest month with most rain while March is mostly the driest month.

| | Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge Trail is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Bentsen Lake; Bentsen Lake is not far at all from McAllen-Edinburg-Pharr. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Golf can be played at Shari Municipal Golf Course, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Mission-Mccallen Area, Tx is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful.

is a tremendous place to camp, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the Bentsen - Rio Grande Valley State Park Trail. If the weather is tremendous here at Bentsen Lake, you can go for a hike along the Lower Rio Grande Valley
National Wildlife Refuge Trail, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not visit Boeye Reservoir. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Bentsen Lake get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down
into the 70's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 60's; night lows during the winter for Bentsen Lake tend to be in the 40's.
