If you are in Bell county it's always a good idea to stop by Belton Lake. While you're here at Belton Lake you can take a hike along the Dana Peak Park Trail, and after a long day outdoors Knights Inn - Belton/Temple is a splendid spot to spend a night or two. Belton Lake is near Coxs Hollow which is absolutely worth a visit, and dry warm beds await you at Budget Host Inn Belton.

Tanyard Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Belton Lake has to offer, you can camp at Belton / Temple / Killeen KOA. Summertime at Belton Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's, and the night is a little colder of course, commonly in the 70's. | |

During the winter the highs are regularly in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Belton Lake.
Paddling on Salado Creek is so much fun, and folks from Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood love to come here. The annual rainfall
here at Belton Lake is about average; May is the month that gets the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. So many fun things to do at Belton Lake, so little time. Why not stop at Belton Dam
since you're here. There's so much to do here at Belton Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Belton Koa Kampground is a nice site for that.
A short spree to Miller Spring is always worthwhile, and going for a hike along the Chalk Ridge Falls Park Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
