Barron Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Barton Creek; there are good locations to discover along the Onion Creek Trail. So much fun stuff to do at Barron Lake, so little time. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Onion Creek, and you'll meet a lot of people from Austin-Round Rock here. Barron Lake Dam is an out of the ordinary

Barron Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Plum Creek Recreational Vehicle Resort is a fine local campground, and Andrews Branch is one of the streams close by that might be worth going to. months is January. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Barron Lake without first going for a hike along the Rock Shelter Trail, and a great nearby hotel is La Quinta Inn AND Suites Kyle.

Park Trail is always a wonderful adventure; enjoy a round of golf at Plum Creek Golf Course. During the summer months, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Barron Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 70's. The wintertime
brings highs down to the 50's, and nighttime lows at Barron Lake all through the wintertime mostly drop into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Barron Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Crestview Rv Center is a nice location for that.
