Near Walker Pond you find the California Trail which is a great hiking trail, and Bacon Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Clark Creek Trail is always a great adventure; during your tour here you'll meet some folks from Johnson City for sure. Super 8 Motel - Erwin is a great site to get some rest; there are some glorious whitewater spots       on Nolichucky River. Not far from Walker Pond, you'll come across Waller Pond which is a scenic lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Nolichucky River. Just can't get enough of Walker Pond. A perfect close by hotel is AmericInn Jonesborough, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Patty Ridge Trail. A pleasant place to take a look at near Walker Pond is Sand Valley, and why not camp at Riverpark Campground since you're here at Walker                  Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Bigrock Campground. Lakes? Sure, Moore Lake is around here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Walker Pond a wet spot; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. Summertime highs at Walker Pond frequently tend to be in the 80's, and the night is slightly colder of course, typically in the 60's.
