Just can't get enough of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Get drenched paddling on New River; W H Swain Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Charit Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground. Glide down the rapids of Pine Creek in a kayak, and if you need a place to stay Best Western South Fork Inn is a tremendous choice. This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Big South       Fork National River & Recreation Area is a national park worth a visit, and there's splendid hiking along the Laurel Creek Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Pioneer. If you came to camp Bandy Creek Campground is a magnificent place to do that, and the Deer Loop offers hiking at its best. And if that's not sufficient there's a heap more enjoyable things to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Griffith Hollow is a glorious site to stop at                  near W H Swain Lake, and good hiking is available along the Racoon Loop. W H Swain Lake gets much water; through March this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is October. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water close by flows, like Flat Creek, and the scenery at W H Swain Dam is charming. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the vicinity of W H Swain Lake. You get a perfect panorama of Sheep Rock Mountain from W H Swain Lake; next to W H Swain Lake you come across a golf course called Oneida Golf & Country Club. Throughout the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at W H Swain Lake. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's.
