     Whitewater paddling is great on New River; Sheep Rock Mountain is clearly visible from W H Swain Lake. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Deer Loop; a nice site to camp here at W H Swain Lake is Charit Creek Campground. This lake is located in the wonderful Cumberland Plateau Mountains.

   the only place nearby, Ponderosa Lake is a nearby lake; Flat Creek is in the vicinity of W H Swain Lake and is always a joy to stop by. W H Swain Lake typically gets a lot of rain; most of the rain falls through March, and October meanwhile is the driest month.
Summertime highs at W H Swain Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's, and the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, generally in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and throughout
 
               the dark hours in the winter at W H Swain Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. So many enjoyable things to do here at W H Swain Lake, too nice to be true. Do pay a visit to Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area while you're here at W H Swain Lake; Comfort Inn Pioneer is a nice place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Laurel Creek Trail is splendid fun, and camping at Bandy Creek Campground is always a tremendous experience.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Racoon Loop, and a splendid spot to take a look at nearby is Griffith Hollow. W H Swain Dam has brilliant water scenery and it's near W H Swain Lake, and if you've had enough of W H Swain Lake, Carter Lake is nearby. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Paddling on Pine Creek is so much fun; Oneida Golf & Country Club is a golf course nearby.

...night there, all your gear will be at camp waiting on you. We'll have ''pulled pork barbecue and fixins'', get up to hot breakfast and ride back along the west side of river, up the ''horse ladder'', and along Jack's Ridge to Bandy Creek, and back to the campground. This will be a challenging ride, not for the faint of rump! When we leave the campground, all your gear will be loaded in our trailer, a hauled to the campsite, while you ride. Riders should bring a small tent, sleeping bag or bedroll, if you have a small cot, we can carry that also, a duffle type bag for clothes, grain for you horse, a nose bag for feeding works great also, we will provide grass hay. If you want to carry a cooler with your personal beverages, that’s also allowed. We will have a saddle bag lunch on the trail, and ride into camp, with the fire already going, and the barbecue smokin!
