From a precipitation point of view Underwood Park Lake is a reasonably typical place; July is the wettest month with most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. Underwood Park Lake is right by the Morrill Trail, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to see at Underwood Park Dam near Underwood Park Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Low Gap Campground 1 is a fine local campground; if you come       at the right time of year, Doe River offers some delightful whitewater. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do close to Underwood Park Lake. Take a hike on the Short Spur Trail, and Underwood Park Lake is a delightful site to visit for more than one day, Low Gap Campground 2 is a delightful site to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Old Dug Trail, and Big Barrett Hollow is also a glorious place to look                  at. After a long day outdoors Americourt Hotel Elizabethton is a great site to spend a night or two; drift down the rapids of Holston River in a kayak. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Big Wildcat Spring, and this is a popular site for folks from Bristol. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Underwood Park Lake; the night is a tad cooler of course, regularly in the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's while Underwood Park Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's.
