All the water falling down from the sky makes Tom Austin Lake a wet location; the month with most of the rain is May, and October is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on French Broad is so much fun; Allens Shoals is unquestionably a nice site to stop at. During the long summer days, highs generally       are in the 80's at Tom Austin Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. All through the winter the highs are generally in the 40's, and overnight lows all through the winter for Tom Austin Lake tend to be in the 20's. Why not camp at Kinser Park if you're here at Tom Austin Lake; going for a hike on the Trail of the Lonesome Pine is always a fine adventure. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Greeneville, and a golf course close by is Andrew Johnson                  Golf Club. That right there is loads already, but it continues; Tom Austin Lake has it all. Not far from Tom Austin Lake, you'll find Burkey Pond which is a beautiful lake, and it's a fine idea to have a look at East Fork Richland Creek. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Davy Crockett Lake. The Oaks Retreat Center is a good local campground, and General Morgan Inn & Conference Center is a wonderful site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful.
