Go for a hike on the Short Spur Trail; if you came to camp Cocran's Lakeview Camp Ground is a fine site to do that. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Taylor Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Taylor Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. For you golfers we recommend nearby Steele CRK Park Golf Course,       and don't leave Taylor Lake without first going for a hike along the Flint Mill Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A great place close to Taylor Lake is Mobley Hollow. All the water falling down from the sky makes Taylor Lake a wet spot; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! Taylor Lake rocks! An exciting thing to have a look at in the vicinity of Taylor Lake                  is Taylor Dam, and Holston River is a good whitewater spot close by. Dry warm beds await you at La Quinta Inn Bristol; Taylor Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Lee Hwy Campground is a great local campground. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Doe River, and Taylor Lake is a site with many visitors from Bristol. This lake is so wonderful.
