On a great day at Steele Creek Park Lake you can take a hike along the Old Dug Trail, and Steele Creek Park Lake is a pleasant location to camp, Lee Hwy Campground is a pleasant location. Through the days of summer here at Steele Creek Park Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. During the winter highs are regularly in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime       at Steele Creek Park Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. Much precipitation falls at Steele Creek Park Lake; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is October. The scenery at Steel Creek Dam next to Steele Creek Park Lake is pretty, and camping at Steele Creek Park Lake is tremendous fun, Pearce Place is a tremendous local campground. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area in the neighborhood                  of Steele Creek Park Lake has to offer. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Holston River, and the peak of Beaver Creek Knobs can be made out from Steele Creek Park Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious close by hotel is Howard Johnson Bristol; since you're here and you like golf, you can go to Cedars Golf Course. Beeler Branch flows through this vicinity, and the Morrill Trail is a good hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Near Steele Creek Park Lake you find the Short Spur Trail which is a great hiking trail; Watauga has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.
