For the duration of the warm days of summer at Steele Creek Park Lake highs are typically in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are generally in the 40's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Steele Creek Park Lake descend into the 20's. A magnificent close by hotel is Knights Inn Bristol, and McPherson       Show Arena is a perfect campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Steele Creek Park Lake; Short Spur Trail is a great local trail; if you need a site to stay Howard Johnson Bristol is a pleasant choice. A brilliant spot for whitewater paddling close to Steele Creek Park Lake is Watauga, and Beaver Creek Knobs can be seen from Steele Creek Park Lake. It's a glorious idea to stop at Beeler Branch, it's near Steele Creek                  Park Lake, and golf can be played at Cedars Golf Course. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Good hiking is available along the Old Dug Trail, and you'll most likely meet some people from Bristol here. Steele Creek Park Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month is October. This lake is so wonderful. There's magnificent hiking along the Morrill Trail, and Steele Creek Park Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Thunder Valley Campground LLC is a great place to camp nearby.
