of golf at nearby Montlake Golf & Country Club is a pleasant way to kill some time; from Springfield Pond you get a tremendous sight of Grasshopper Hill.
Springfield Pond frequently gets a large amount of precipitation; throughout
March this area sees the most rain while October is usually the driest month. Bynum Gulch is in close proximity to Springfield Pond and is without doubt a tremendous place to stop at, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along
the Hardy Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from Chattanooga come to Springfield Pond; not far from Springfield Pond you'll find Montlake which is a picturesque lake.
Going for a hike on the Skyuka Trail is always a good adventure.
