At Spain Lake during the summertime months highs are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Spain Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Little Lost       Creek is right next door to Spain Lake and is always a joy to go to; folks from Cookevi lle love to come here. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Caney Fork; if you need a spot to stay Cookeville Knights Inn is a glorious choice. You don’t have to go far from Spain Lake to observe the water at Spain Lake Dam; if you come at the right time of year, Clifty Creek offers some good whitewater.                  Be careful coming to Spain Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Why not camp at Spring Valley RV Park while you're here at Spain Lake, and almost certainly you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Payne Lake is just a very short distance away. That right there is a heap of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has it all. Baymont Inn & Suites Cookeville is a great place to get some rest, and camping is available at Spencer Cove RV Park. The high level of rainfall makes Spain Lake a rather wet place; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while October is usually the driest month.
