Smith Pond gets a lot of water; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is August. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Laurel Hill is stunning and can be made out from Smith       Pond, and there are brilliant locations to look at along the Forked Pine Nature Trail. Go for a hike on the Fern Loop Nature Trail. Smith Pond is a location with many visitors from Jackson. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Smith Pond has to offer, you can camp at Chickasaw State Park. All through the summer highs here at Smith Pond reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the                  40's while Smith Pond nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
