After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Cleveland is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. Simpson Pond is a wet place that gets a good deal of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is October. Chilhowee Rec Area - Cherokee National Forest is a great campground nearby, and you can run the rapids of Conasauga River. Good hiking is available       along the Chilhowee Forest Walk Trail, and at Simpson Pond you always meet someone from Cleveland. This lake is so wonderful. Ramada Limited Cleveland is a brilliant place to get some rest, and the Big Pine Trail offers hiking at its best. At Simpson Pond during the months of summer highs are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's; after the sun is down all through the winter                  temperatures at Simpson Pond fall into the 20's. Walker Valley is a fine place to discover, and there's great hiking along the Arbutus Trail. Golden Chain Campground is a great local campground; get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Gee Creek. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Simpson Pond is excellent!
