This lake is located in the wonderful Great Smoky Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Paddling on Tellico River is so much fun, and the Conasauga Falls Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Great Smoky Mountains. You're sure to come across some cheerful folks from Athens here, and after       a long day outdoors Comfort Inn West is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail near Shortfoots Pond called the Doc Rogers Trail, and a glorious location to camp here at Shortfoots Pond is Tellico Plains Koa. Getting to Atkins Branch from Shortfoots Pond is simple, and Econo Lodge Sweetwater is a good place to get some rest. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The warmest time of the year at Shortfoots Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and the overnight is rather colder of course, usually in the 60's. Soar down the rapids of Wildcat Creek in a kayak, and Atkins Knob is trouble-free to spot from Shortfoots Pond.
