There's fine hiking along the Tweed Trail; Scruggs Spring is always fun to check out. All through the summertime months here at Scruggs Pond, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Scruggs Pond throughout the wintertime regularly fall into the 20's. This       lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Greeneville/Bulls Gap Super 8 Motel is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Scruggs Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Douglas Shores Campground is a brilliant place for that. This place, Scruggs Pond, it completely has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Some of the water nearby flows, like Bear Creek, and Bird Hill can be made out from Scruggs Pond. Good hiking                  is available along the Gum Springs Trail, and Scsruggs Shoals is close at hand, and is a splendid place. Don't leave Scruggs Pond without first going for a hike along the Meadow Creek Mountain Trail, and Best Western Executive Inn is a glorious location to get some rest. Scruggs Pond gets a large amount of water; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Banks Farms Campground, and soar down the rapids of French Broad in a kayak.
