At Scott Pond all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Scott Pond temperatures sink to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Banks Farms Campground while       you're here at Scott Pond, and Hogan Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore. Yeah, come here to Scott Pond for a great time. A perfect site for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Scott Pond is French Broad, and a delightful site nearby is Barger Hollow. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Tweed Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and Houston Valley Campground is a splendid local campground. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on French Broad, and if you're popping by from Newport, you won't be the only one. There's some flowing water close by, Freshour Branch is a stream you can check out while here; close by you locate the Gum Springs Trail which is a great hiking trail.
