If you are in Blount county it's always a good idea to stop by Sandy Stand Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Sandy Stand Lake; Abrams Falls Trail is a nice local trail; a brilliant site for whitewater paddling is Abrams Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Little Bottoms Trail, and lots of people from Knoxville come here. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Sandy Stand Lake. You'll need more than
a day to explore everything Sandy Stand Lake has to offer, you can camp at Abrams Creek Campground; here at Sandy Stand Lake you can spot Ellis Butt. That right there is a lot already, but it goes on; Sandy Stand Lake has it all.
The high level of precipitation makes Sandy Stand Lake a reasonably wet place; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most, and October on the other hand is the driest.

at Sandy Stand Lake why not take a look at Cane Gap. There's so much to do here at Sandy Stand Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Carpenter Campground is a nice location for that. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent nearby hotel is Jameson Inn Alcoa, and Little River is a brilliant whitewater spot nearby.
