Read Lake is a lake worth visiting. Read Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; March is the month that gets the most rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month. Cherokee Motel is a great spot to get some rest, and camping at Raccoon Mountain Campground is always a delightful experience. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Middle Creek, and do take a hike on the Hardy Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
