This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Middle Creek, and the Skyuka Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. Lots of people from Chattanooga come to Read Lake, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites CHATTANOOGA-HIXSON is a pleasant choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you haven’t been to Russell Cave National Monument,       you ought to schedule some time for it if you're here. There's so much to do here at Read Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lookout Valley RV Park is a tremendous location for that. At Read Lake through the summertime highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Read Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. What a location this is for outdoors                  people.
