What a nice lake Porter Lake is. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Porter Lake Dam; if you need a place to stay Howard Johnson Spring City is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. While you're here at Porter Lake you will meet lots of folks from close by Athens, and a short visit to Ward Spring is always worthwhile. A good deal of rainfall falls

Why not camp at Cotton Port Marina and Campground since you're here at Porter Lake, and whitewater paddling is good on Piney River. Dayton. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Cottonport Fish N Camp, and don't leave Porter Lake without first going for a hike along the Fooshee Pass Trail. Through the summertime months, highs frequently are in
the 80's at Porter Lake. Throughout the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Porter Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. Porter
Lake is one of the lakes here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little Piney Creek; good hiking is available along the Laurel-Snow Trail.
