Dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn-Dayton; close by you come across the Fooshee Pass Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Porter Lake Dam is a beautiful place close to Porter Lake; Ward Spring is a delightful place to check out while you're at Porter Lake. And that's not all you can do here at Porter Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Little Piney Creek offers some great whitewater, and if you get bored       of Porter Lake you could also explore nearby Breeden Pond. Porter Lake is located in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Porter Lake frequently gets much precipitation; most of the rain falls through March; the driest of the months is October. This place, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing things. There are some good whitewater spots on Piney River, and there are plenty of folks from Athens here. This lake is so wonderful. Watts                  Bar Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and needless to say Bush Creek flows through this neighborhood. During the warm months, highs frequently are in the 80's at Porter Lake. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Porter Lake. There's so much to do here at Porter Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cottonport Fish N Camp is a wonderful location for that, and going for a hike on the Laurel-Snow Trail is always a pleasant adventure. So many amusing things to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, not enough time.
