At Ponderosa Lake during the summer months highs are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Ponderosa Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. Ponderosa Lake, simply astonishing. A round of golf at nearby Oneida Golf & Country Club is a great way to kill some time, and Smith Knob is beautiful and can be distinguished from here.
Having a good time in the Cumberland Plateau
Mountains is trouble-free. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Pine Creek; Big South Fork Wilderness RSRT is a magnificent place to get some rest. A lake nearby is Carter Lake, and going
for a hike along the Racoon Loop will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. This lake is so wonderful. Ponderosa Lake is in close proximity to Chambers Hollow which is undeniably worth taking a look at, and Ponderosa Lake
is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Charit Creek Campground is a nice local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on New River, and Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area
is a pleasant spot close by. Ponderosa Lake gets a good deal of water; through the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is October. Dry warm beds await you at Galloway Inn, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Deer Loop.
