     Polk Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Holiday Rest Family Campground is a great local campground; not far from Polk Lake you'll discover Crutcher Lake which is a gorgeous lake. The high level of rain makes Polk Lake a quite wet location; March is when you get the most rain here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Nearby Capps Gap is a great site to go if you're at Polk Lake; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn  
   Express WHITE HOUSE. Dan Kirk Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Crutcher Lake.
And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool stuff just keep reading. Shallow Ford Hill is clearly visible from Polk Lake; Bledsoe Creek has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Polk Lake reach the 80's, and during
 
               the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Polk Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Polk Lake is not far at all from Nashville-Davidson—Murfreesboro.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Nashville Country RV Park is always a magnificent experience, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn White House is a tremendous choice.

Two Rivers Campgrounds
11 miles away
Small, well kept campground that is privately owned and operated. Owners on site most of the time. During the season there is free live entertainment two or three nights a weeks. Always free coffee in the office for visitors. Front desk staff is friendly and can help you plan your stay in Nasvhille. Tours and show tickets available at the front desk as well.

No Tent Camping

104 RV sites with water, electric only OR water, electric and sewer.

Pets are allowed but you are required to keep them on a lease and pick up their messes.

Campfires are not allowed unless in a covered container that is off the ground.

There is a convenience store and a gift shop on the premeises.

Lesters Lake is no longer there. It was drained years ago after a girl was killed swimming there when she swam into an area inhabited by cottonmouth snakes and was bitten several times....Do you remember swimming at Lesters Lake...1970...?...

Bledsoe Creek

Bledsoe creek was a real let down. The only time to go to this is if there has been atleast one inch of rain the previous day before you go. When we got there it was a dried up creek bed so there was no rafting for us that day; we just had to settle on practicing our rolls....
