The high level of rain makes Polk Lake a quite wet location; March is when you get the most rain here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Nearby Capps Gap is a great site to go if you're at Polk Lake; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn       Express WHITE HOUSE. Dan Kirk Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Crutcher Lake.
