Laurel Trails Campground is a glorious local campground; don't miss out on a visit to Russell Cave National Monument since you're here. This lake is so wonderful.       Grundy State Forest is a great local forest, and there's whitewater on Big Fiery Gizzard Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Plainview Lake. Lakes? Sure, Littell Number One Lake is close by, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Tullahoma here. Plainview Lake gets a good deal of water; through the month of March you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is                  June. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Hines Pond, and the vista of pretty East Ramsey is tremendous. South Cumberland RV Park is a great campground nearby; dry warm beds await you at Best Western Smokehouse Lodge. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Winding Stairs, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Little Fiery Gizzard Creek. All through the summertime, highs typically are in the 80's at Plainview Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Plainview Lake are in the 20's.
