Open Pond is a wet place that gets much rainfall; March is the month that gets the most rain while August is commonly the driest month. All through the warm months here at Open Pond, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Open Pond. Buffalo Shoals is right next door to Open       Pond and is without doubt a good spot to go to, and you can stay the night at Beech Bend Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is perfect here at Open Pond, you can go for a hike along the Mount Zion Trail; since you're here, you could check out Mud Slough. So much exciting stuff to do here at Open Pond, too wonderful to be true. Comfort Inn Savannah is a wonderful site to get some rest. The Largo Trail is a tremendous hiking trail in close                  proximity to Open Pond, and a short tour to Blue Spring is always worthwhile.
