All the water falling down from the sky makes Norris Lake a wet spot; July is when you get the most rain here; October on the other hand is the driest. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Clinton; you can take a little trip to Norris Dam if you're here at Norris Lake. What a place this is for outdoors       people. Massengill Hollow is a magnificent spot to check out close by, and Cumberland River - Clear Fork is a great whitewater spot close by. For the period of the warm days of summer at Norris Lake highs are regularly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Norris Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. Norris Lake is right by the                  River Bluff Trail. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Cumberland Plateau Mountains is peerless! Norris Forestry Research Area is a delightful local forest; Fox Inn Campground is a great campground here. You can observe High Point from Norris Lake, and if time allows, Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is a national park worth visiting. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Pleasantrees Country Cottage is a glorious spot to get some rest, and hiking along the Deer Trail is magnificent fun. This lake is so wonderful. Norris Lake is a good place to camp, Mountain Lake Marine and Campground is a good place, and don't forget to take a pleasant little spree to Clear Creek.
