Little Mountain is painless to spot from Mountain View Lake, and hiking along the Starr Mountain Trail is splendid fun. Mountain View Lake is a rather wet place mostly with a great deal of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Goodsprings Branch is a good local stream, and don't leave       Mountain View Lake without first paying a visit to Plumlee Spring. While you're here at Mountain View Lake, you could also visit picturesque Williams Lake, and Mountain View Lake is right by the Fishermans Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Gee Creek in a kayak, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Gee Creek Trail. Camping is available at Mc Clary Bend, and if you need a place to stay Sleep Inn Etowah is a splendid choice.                  If you came for an overnight stay Gee Creek Campground is a pleasant location to camp, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Athens here. If you come at the right time of year, Little Loss Creek offers some great whitewater. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Mountain View Lake. After a long day outdoors Holiday Terrace Motel is a nice place to spend a night or two, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Ridgewood Golf Club. Summertime highs at Mountain View Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's.
