Moore Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is October. At Moore Lake through the warm months highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Moore Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things near Moore Lake. During       your spree to Moore Lake you'll meet some folks from Johnson City for sure, and going for a hike along the Clark Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. There are some good whitewater spots on Nolichucky River, and getting to Clark Creek from Moore Lake is trouble-free. What would a place like Moore Lake be without interesting nearby features like Bayless Bluff, and on a beautiful                  day you acquire a glorious vista of Potato Hill from Moore Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Bigrock Campground is a good site to do that; if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Squibb Creek Trail. While you're here at Moore Lake you can take a hike along the Patty Ridge Trail, and Holiday Inn Express Erwin I-181 / I-26 (Exit 15), is a magnificent spot to get some rest. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Erwin, and Wolf Laurel is a very popular ski area around here. This lake is so wonderful. Sally Hole is a glorious site to stretch your legs a bit; while you're here, you might as well stop at Clarks Creek Shoals.
