Monterey Lake is a reasonably wet place mostly with much precipitation; throughout March this area sees the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Obey River - East Fork; a magnificent nearby hotel is Winona Motel. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is plentiful here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.       While you're here at Monterey Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Cookevi lle, and a great place to camp here at Monterey Lake is Spring Valley RV Park. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting things the area next to Monterey Lake has to offer. Monterey Lake is not the only site close by, Monterey Lake Number One is a close by lake; Monterey Lake is pleasant enough to spend                  more than a day at, Roam and Roost RV Campground is a pleasant local campground. High temperatures at Monterey Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Monterey Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Take a side tour to Brady Branch; Monterey Lake Dam Number Two is not far at all from Monterey Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A nice place near Monterey Lake is Verble Hollow, and an afternoon playing golf at Mountain Ridge Golf Club is always a diversion. This lake is so wonderful.
