During the warmest time of the year at Mingo Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 40's, and night lows all through the winter for Mingo Pond tend to be in the 20's. Mingo Pond commonly gets a good deal of       precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout March; August is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Fairview/Devils Step Campground is a magnificent place to do that; dry warm beds await you at Jameson Inn Decherd. Swamps can be such attention-grabbing sites, check out Mingo Swamp if you're here at Mingo Pond, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Long Pond. Some of the water close by                  flows, like Carter Branch, and a good site for whitewater paddling is Turkey Creek. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Mingo Pond.
