After a long day outdoors Scottish Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and swamps like Chapman Swamp are fun to stop at. Matthews Lake is a rather wet place commonly with a good deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually December, that's the one that rains the most; October is when it's the driest. A nice site to camp here at Matthews       Lake is Joy-o RV Park, and no need to travel far to have a look at interesting stuff like Mulherin Bend. Lakes are brilliant; Brush Lake is a lake that's right next door to Matthews Lake, and Super 8 Motel - Whiteville is a tremendous place to get some rest. People from Brownsville love to come to Matthews Lake, and there's some flowing water nearby, Big Black Creek is a stream you can check out during your stay. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a tremendous time                  here at Matthews Lake. Camping is available at Joyners Campground. Summertime at Matthews Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's.
