    A visit to Lake Mary Ella is always a good idea. Not far from Lake Mary Ella, you'll come across Bud Hodge Lake which is a beautiful lake, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the River Bluff Trail. The warmest time of the year at Lake Mary Ella comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are generally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Lake Mary Ella are in the  
   20's.
Going for a hike along the Deer Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; why not camp at Bell Campground while you're here at Lake Mary Ella. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Lake Mary Ella is peerless! Johnson Spring is always fun to check out, and float down the rapids of Little River in a kayak. There are other locations here than Lake Mary Ella, for example Bradley Lake, and lots of folks from Knoxville come here.
This lake
 
               is so wonderful. A brilliant spot to take a look at near Lake Mary Ella is Cheneworth Gap, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Dead Horse Lake Golf Course is around here. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel is a glorious place to spend a night or two, and Powell Koa Kampground is a great local campground. Lake Mary Ella typically gets a great deal of rain; March is the month that gets the most rain; October is the month with the least moisture.
Comfort Hotel Knoxville is a pleasant place to get some rest, and Jimmy Baisley Lake Dam is a place that is next to Lake Mary Ella.

People who've hiked the trail along the Clinch River just downstream of Norris Dam could tell you about how good this place is for spring wildflowers. 3. 2 miles of trail with a nice blend of flat easy walking along the river coupled with a bit of climbing and a ridgeline hike back to the car makes for a good workout--but one you'll hardly notice due to the grand views of flowers and scenery.

Don't give up when you first start this trail because you'll see only a few flowers along the first 1/2 mile. Beyond that, you'll think you've entered some kind of wildflower garden. Honest--the displays are that good.

If you're into 4-wheeling, be it quads, dirtbikes, or jeeps - this is THE PLACE to be! There are hundreds of miles of trails from easy to extreme, I hear it is like 72,000 acres big. We stayed at this campground and it was great! CLEAN, close enough to the trails to ride without hauling your bike on a trailer, and the people there are great. The Hoskins Brothers who run this place are the best!...
