If you are in Monroe county it's always a good idea to stop by Madisonville Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Wildcat Creek, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Sweetwater is a magnificent site to spend a night or two. Here at Madisonville Lake there are plenty of people from Athens, and if you come at the right time of year, Tellico River offers some wonderful whitewater. This

High temperatures at Madisonville Lake throughout the days of summer are in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 60's.
