Bishop Top is a peak you can observe from Long Pond, and a glorious site for whitewater paddling is Turkey Creek. Lakes are such serene sites, why not visit Mingo Pond right next door to Long Pond, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Inn is a good location to spend a night or two. Camping is available at Lynchburg Wilderness RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer       then a great nearby course is Scenic View Golf Course, and dry warm beds await you at Jameson Inn Decherd. You'll locate a stunning lake called Glaus Pond near Long Pond, and a good location to camp here at Long Pond is Fairview/Devils Step Campground. Long Pond gets a good deal of water; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is August. All the outdoors fun stuff near Long Pond will keep you coming back over and over.
